Finding an NYC apt in two days

I never thought I'd be saying this, but apartment hunting in NYC isn't all that bad.

Our first apartment required an 'agent' as we were brand new to the city and needed for find a place fast. After crashing on our friend's couch for a few weeks, we landed a home in Midtown NYC. The space was a small 1BR, wall-up building, with no amenities. This was also 2.5 years ago.

Our current apartment in Harlem, is basically just as small, in another walk-up building, with no amenities. This building has been a thorn in our sides since we've moved in, so we're thrilled to pack our shit up and run for the hills! Well...not the hills, but just somewhere else.

In my latest video, I go on an 'apartment hunt' with my fiancĂ©, over the course of two full days. At the end of those days, we chose an apartment, began the application process, and we're moving within the next week or so.

I hope you enjoy the video and if you live in New York City, what apartment hunting tips have you found helpful?

Cheetah Shoes + Ripped Jeans Blues

This photoshoot was one of my favorites as it was the perfect transitional time between the end of Winter (and snow) and the introduction of Spring in NYC! I was thrilled to go out without a jacket and boots and chose this laid back, but funky look.

Camel with stripes

Who knew that a $25 coat could be my new favorite piece?! When I throw on this coat with any muted/neutral outfit, I feel like it gives it the perfect "pop of personality" with added utility and warmth! I purchased this coat from

March plan with me + 10K subscribers!

Hello all!

My March 'Plan with me' video is now *live* on my YouTube channel. I had fun with this layout and utilized the following tools:
  • translucent flamingo washi tape
  • Staedtler fineliner 0.30 (black)
  • Muji Gel Pen 0.38 (black)
  • Tombow Brush Pens ( Portrait Palette)
I decided to go with a light pastel colored layout with flamingos of course.

Also, some awesome news! I just hit 10,000 subscribers! I am so excited and grateful for the growth my channel has seen and hope you all continue this journey with me.

2017 Bullet Journal

I promised an "after" post of my 2017 bullet journal and here it is! When I complete Bullet Journal spreads I will always go back and tidying up the pages. (Especially if this is done on camera for YouTube videos) The main two reasons are: I'm a perfectionist and I get spurts of inspiration at perfectly random times.

If you checked out my 2017 Bullet Journal Transfer + Planning video then you know my journal looks much different in these after photos. You may also notice new pages that were not outlined in the video - so I'll explain them here!

1. Fitness Goals
Tracks my fitness goals in a 'quarterly' structure and I've given myself mini goals to achieve after each month!
2. SheMeetsCity Calendar
This was inspired by another "bullet journaler" and I decided to try it! The calendar is dedicated to my blog/YouTube - SheMeetsCity. I'm able to easily track and plan out future videos and blog posts to keep me disciplined!
3. Gratitude Log
You've seen this log before, but I decided to tweak it a bit! For this gratitude log I tracked those sentiments with doodles instead of just text. I've been more excited to keep up with this layout and will most likely be keep it for each month.

Hope you all enjoyed this post and the video!
